Aeolian Strings

The founder and owner of Aeolian Strings and it's precursor HR Hill Fine strings, H. Ross Hill has been working on fine stringed instruments for over 60 years. He has crafted an impressive catalogue of over 400 instruments including violins, violas, cellos, classical and steel-string guitars. At age 10, Ross made his first violin under the tutelage of Ragnar Helin. Ross made 7 instruments under Helin's direction and own awards for each instrument. Ross has been renowned for his repairs, restorations and maintenance work, and has been providing support to communities across Canada. He is the favoured luthier of a significant portion of the Calgary Philharmonic, and does seasonal work in Victoria and Winnipeg. 

Ross also holds a Bachelors Degree in Education from UBC, and taught secondary level for 30 years.
